What is Plexr?

Plexr is an advanced non-invasive device that uses plasma innovation to provide state-of-the-art treatments and outstanding clinical results.

Plexr stands out from lasers by sublimating tissue, not vaporizing it. A controlled plasma bolt transforms solid tissue into gas, effectively removing the targeted area. This non-invasive “Soft Surgery" mimics microsurgery, minus the blade. With Plexr Clean Plasma, there is no radio frequency or laser. The energy stays outside the skin. Therefore the thermal damage is very low. It removes more tissue without unwanted skin damage.

Plexr is a non-invasive alternative to traditional surgical procedures, which means less time spent recovering and fewer complications to worry about. It provides both ablative and non-ablative modalities. Whether you want to rejuvenate your skin, reduce wrinkles, revise scars, or even undergo eyelid surgery, Plexr can help you achieve your desired results with minimal discomfort and downtime. So why choose surgery when you can choose Plexr?

How does Plexr work?

The Plexr method has many advantages over cosmetic surgery, which makes it an increasingly popular treatment method. There is no cutting of the skin, which means that there are no stitches required, and most people can return to work the same day. It is much quicker than surgery, as no injectable anesthetic is required. Plasma is a relatively new innovation in the beauty industry. The extremely accurate instrument works by ionizing the gas particles in the air between its tip and the skin, to form plasma. An electrical arc is created, which results in sublimation i.e. turns a solid straight into gas. Therefore, the results are instant, but also no heat is transferred to the surrounding area. The resultant tissue retraction and tightening (as opposed to removal) gives results that are comparable to the ones seen with invasive surgery.

What can be treated?

Plexr has a wide range of therapeutic uses, treating several imperfections without actual skin cutting. It can be used for:

  • Eyelid reconstruction (non-surgical blepharoplasty), including resolving baggy lower eyelids and excess upper eyelid skin
  • Tattoo removal
  • Skin imperfections and benign lesions including warts, fibromas, pigmentation, and sun spots
  • Improvement in the appearance of scarring, including post-surgery scars, acne scars, and stretch marks
  • Decrease in wrinkles including around mouth
  • Facelift and neck lift
  • Active acne
  • Vulvovaginal atrophy and vaginal dryness
  • Nonsurgical labiaplasty and wart removal
  • SKIN REJUVENATION via Plexr Shower/microneedling

What is a Plexr Shower/Microneedling?

This is a non-ablative application of Plexr used for skin rejuvenation. It uses a specific triangle tip to deliver the treatment to provide a large spot size. Therefore it can treat the whole face in just 5 minutes. While the regular Plexr tip creates a big bolt of plasma that focuses the energy on one spot right underneath the tip, the triangle tip used in the Plexr Shower spreads the energy along the length into many nano plasma bolts. These nano bolts cause a micro-injury on the skin, making a micro-hole. This removes a tiny bit of the skin causing an immediate skin-tightening effect while making it ready to absorb other treatments such as hyaluronic acid based products or PRP (platelet-rich plasma) for even better results!

How long does it last?

Plexr treatment involves the removal of skin, making it more than a simple tightening treatment. While the effects of surgical and cosmetic procedures are not entirely permanent due to aging, the positive results of Plexr treatment should last for years rather than months. However, factors such as smoking, alcohol consumption, and prolonged sun exposure can reduce the length of the beneficial effects. Additionally, the longevity of the results can be influenced by race and genetics. Your consultation can provide further information.

What are potential side effects & risks?

Although Plexr is a non-invasive treatment and is considered safe, patients may experience minor side effects within the first seven days after treatment. Brown marks resembling minor scabs, called carbon crusts, will appear, falling off after around five days to reveal new pink skin underneath. In some cases, swelling may occur, particularly when treating eyelids, but typically lasts no more than 3-5 days. To prevent more severe side effects such as hyperpigmentation, it's essential to follow the aftercare regimen recommended by your practitioner.

Who is not a good candidate for Plexr treatments?

Pregnant or breastfeeding women should avoid Plexr, similar to other cosmetic procedures. While some darker skin types may be appropriate for the treatment, it is not recommended for individuals with very dark skin due to a higher risk of hyperpigmentation (dark spots) or hypopigmentation (light spots) after treatment, especially if the carbon crust is disturbed by scratching, scrubbing, or picking.

What is post treatment care?

To ensure the treatment area is cleaned quickly, it's recommended that you avoid wearing makeup on the day of your Plexr treatment. The treatment typically takes 10-40 minutes, depending on the size of the area. An anesthetic cream is applied and left to take effect for around 30 minutes before multiple plasma tip shots are placed closely together in the numb treatment area. You may experience a slightly painful and uncomfortable heat sensation during the procedure. Following treatment, your practitioner will apply a cooling gel to alleviate burning sensations, which should only last a few hours.

Your practitioner will provide you with thorough aftercare instructions to ensure optimal results. Avoid using exfoliating wash or cleanser for at least a week or until the treatment area has fully healed, and instead, opt for a pH-balanced soap and avoid rubbing the area.

While most people can drive safely after their Plexr procedure, avoiding driving is advised if the treatment area is around the eyes due to potential irritation or swelling.

When can results be seen?

You will notice positive effects immediately after your first Plexr treatment, but the best results are typically seen three weeks after. To achieve maximum beneficial appearance, three treatments are recommended at six-week intervals.
